Vocapable
Answer well. Reach further. Vocapable is an AI business phone platform: an AI receptionist that answers incoming calls from approved business knowledge, and outbound calling agents that qualify prospects, fill shifts, and collect customer feedback — each conversation ending in a captured next step for the team.
Phone calls that end in outcomes, not transcripts.
A business phone line is where requests arrive and where follow-up stalls. Vocapable puts an AI agent on both directions of the call. Incoming, the AI Receptionist answers from the hours, services, and FAQs the owner has approved, transfers to the team when someone is available, and captures a message or callback when no one is. Outgoing, purpose-built agents call eligible contacts to qualify sales interest, confirm worker availability for open shifts, or ask customers about a recent experience.
Every call lands in a shared call workspace with the contact, the ordered turns of the conversation, the transcript or recording where the call path supports it, and the outcome the team needs to act on. For the receptionist, a business can bring its own verified Twilio account or take a Vocapable-managed US local number; outbound campaigns run on the business's own Twilio account. Vocapable publishes every price on its website and enforces calling controls in software before a dial is admitted. It operates independently at vocapable.com under Capstra Labs LLC.
What Vocapable commits to.
The platform is built around a small number of promises to the business owner, and each product decision is checked against them.
Answers the owner approved
Guided setup drafts business knowledge from the owner's details or website, and the owner reviews the source and wording of every answer before it is saved. When an answer is missing, the caller gets a clear next step instead of an invented one.
A next step, every call
Each service has a defined outcome: a captured caller request, a qualified prospect with a requested follow-up time, a worker's shift response, or a survey answer. The AI gathers and records; the team confirms commitments.
Compliance before the dial
Calling windows, suppression lists, and eligibility checks run before an outbound attempt is admitted. AI disclosure is made during the conversation, stop requests are honored, and a per-call evidence record preserves the checks and policy that applied.
Published pricing
Subscription, AI-minute, and per-attempt rates are listed on the website, with a calculator that separates each component. Billable minutes are metered per second with a 30-second minimum per AI-handled call, and allowances are shown before purchase.
Two ways to connect a number
Businesses can connect a verified Twilio account and a number they already own, with the carrier billing directly and no Vocapable markup. For the receptionist they can instead take a Vocapable-managed US local number, included with the managed plans, without setting up Twilio themselves.
Built as production software
Tenant-scoped records with database row-level security enforce the company boundary beneath the application. Provider credentials sit in an encrypted credential store, and public monitoring reports website, app, API, and AI readiness.
From signup to a live line.
Setup is guided and reviewed at every step. Nothing goes live until the owner has rehearsed representative calls and the required checks pass.
Pick a starting point
Receptionist handles incoming calls. Sales, Workforce, and Engage place outbound calls for a specific purpose. Pricing, included allowances, and usage rates are shown before the business commits to anything.
Business, knowledge, and voice
Company details are entered once. The owner reviews services, hours, FAQs, and instructions in small sections, picks a voice from a public sample gallery, and adds what the chosen workflow needs: a transfer destination and fallback, an approved offer and qualification questions, shift details and a worker list, or survey questions.
Phone path and calling policy
Either a verified Twilio account is connected and a supported number configured, or, for the receptionist, a Vocapable-managed US local number is quoted and activated. Business hours are set in the owner's timezone, a closed-hours route, and the fallback used when the team cannot answer. Outbound setups also define the eligible audience, calling windows, retry limits, and next steps.
Rehearse, verify, publish
The owner tries a common question, a request for a human, a closed-hours call, and a busy route, verifies the action results, and publishes once the required checks pass. Later changes to a live agent go through the same review-and-publish controls.
What is available today.
Status reflects vocapable.com as of October 2026. Where a capability is in pilot, still in progress, or limited to one product line, it is labeled as such.
AI ReceptionistLive
Answers everyday questions about services, hours, and locations from approved facts, routes callers to the team via keypress menu or ring-through, and takes a message or voicemail when no one is available. Starter, Business, and Scale tiers, on a bring-your-own Twilio account or a Vocapable-managed number.
Outbound callingLive
Three workflows: Sales qualifies interest and captures a requested follow-up time; Workforce asks a roster about open shifts and brings responses to a coordinator; Engage runs customer feedback calls. A Recruiting pilot with human recruiter handoff is being prepared for production.
Call workspaceLive
Contacts with tags and custom fields, call records with ordered turns and transcript or recording, voicemail audio, and a follow-up inbox where requests are acknowledged, assigned, and resolved. A company switcher separates each business's team, numbers, agents, knowledge, and billing.
Developer APILive
The resources the portal uses are exposed through a versioned REST API, so a business can run the workflow headlessly from its own systems. Scoped API keys, signed webhooks with secret rotation and delivery retry, SCIM provisioning, test mode, and a production checklist are documented at docs.vocapable.com.
Mobile appIn progress
iPhone and Android apps for call history, captured answers, follow-ups, knowledge review, voice previews, team availability, and multi-business switching are preparing for app-store publication. A responsive web app serves mobile today; store links are not yet available.
Managed numbersReceptionist only
A Vocapable-managed US local number is available for incoming receptionist calls and is included with the managed Receptionist plans. Activation depends on inventory, the number quote, accepted funding, and call qualification checks. Supplied-phone outbound is published for planning only; public acquisition and outbound activation are not open, so outbound runs on the business's own Twilio account.

Controls on every dial.
Outbound AI calling is only defensible if the software enforces the rules the business has agreed to and keeps the evidence. Vocapable builds that into the dial path rather than leaving it to a policy document.
The business keeps contact provenance and its basis for calling. Before an attempt is admitted, the configured calling window, suppression checks, and eligibility checks run. During the conversation the required AI disclosure is made, and a request to stop is respected with a route to the next appropriate action. Afterwards, the outcome and the policy evidence are preserved, and opt-outs become part of the contact record used for all future calling.
Vocapable is explicit about the responsibility split: the business owns its audience, purpose, permission, and applicable obligations, and a software check, a purchased list, or a signed waiver alone does not establish that a particular call is lawful. The platform agreement accepted before the first call includes a Master Services Agreement, a Telecom Compliance Addendum, an Acceptable Use Policy, an AI Technology Disclosure, and a Data Processing Addendum.
Calling window, suppression, and eligibility checks gate every outbound attempt
Required AI disclosure; stop requests honored with a route to the next step
Per-call evidence record of checks and policy applied; opt-outs recorded on the contact
Tenant-scoped records with database row-level security; encrypted credential store; exports via CSV and API
Subscription plus metered usage, all published.
Each plan carries an included AI-minute allowance; usage beyond it is metered per second with a 30-second minimum per AI-handled call. Outbound plans add a per-attempt fee. Included minutes renew on the subscription anniversary and do not roll over. There is no free trial; voices can be previewed free before purchase.
| Plan | Monthly | Included | Usage beyond allowance |

| Receptionist Starter (own Twilio) | $39 | 250 AI minutes; up to 2 simultaneous AI calls | $0.20 per AI minute |
| Receptionist Business (own Twilio) | $109 | 1,000 AI minutes; up to 3 simultaneous AI calls | $0.15 per AI minute |
| Receptionist Scale (own Twilio) | $219 | 2,000 AI minutes; up to 5 simultaneous AI calls | $0.12 per AI minute |
| Receptionist Starter (managed number) | $49 | 250 AI minutes; one US local number included | $0.24 per AI minute |
| Receptionist Business (managed number) | $139 | 1,000 AI minutes; one US local number included | $0.19 per AI minute |
| Receptionist Scale (managed number) | $269 | 2,000 AI minutes; one US local number included | $0.16 per AI minute |
| Outbound Engage | $349 | 1 outbound session; customer feedback workflow | $0.13 per AI minute + $0.005 per call attempt |
| Outbound Workforce | $549 | 2 outbound sessions; includes Engage workflows | $0.13 per AI minute + $0.005 per call attempt |
| Outbound Sales | $1,199 | 2 outbound sessions; 1,000 AI minutes and 2,000 attempts; includes Workforce and Engage | $0.13 per AI minute + $0.005 per call attempt |
Add-ons: an extra outbound session is $200 per month; adding Receptionist to an outbound plan is $250 per month for the first inbound connection and $150 for each additional one; extra managed US local numbers are $3 per month and add no AI capacity. Subscription payment alone does not reserve or activate a managed number. Volume pricing lowers the AI-minute rate by $0.01 for each $10,000 of eligible monthly spend to a floor of $0.07, and a non-cancellable three-year commitment starts the rate at $0.09. Custom arrangements are handled through the Vocapable contact page.
How it is built.
Vocapable is a multi-tenant platform in which the dashboard is one client of the same API customers can call themselves. The design goals are isolation between companies, auditability of every call, and no lock-in on the phone path.
Tenant isolation
Contacts, calls, and evidence are tenant-scoped, with database row-level security enforcing the company boundary beneath the application so that a single application-code bug should not expose another customer's data.
Dial gate and evidence
Calling policy is evaluated before each outbound attempt and the result is written to a per-call evidence record, including the reason an attempt was blocked. Opt-outs and suppression travel with the contact.
API-first
Calls, contacts, campaigns, agents, knowledge, analytics, billing, phone numbers, and exports are all available through a versioned REST API with scoped keys, signed webhooks, SCIM, test mode, and a headless mode for running without the dashboard.
Telephony options
Customers connect a verified Twilio account, against which Vocapable configures voice and inbound SMS webhook URLs, keeping number ownership and carrier billing with the customer. Receptionist customers can instead take a Vocapable-managed US local number; outbound campaigns require the customer's own Twilio account.
Bounded capacity
AI concurrency is finite and plan-limited, with shared fleet capacity. Every number is required to have a non-AI fallback — waiting, message, or voicemail — configured before launch so callers are never dropped when AI slots are busy.
Operational transparency
Public monitoring at status.vocapable.com reports website, app-service, API, and AI readiness. Retention and access terms are published in the agreement and data processing addendum rather than left implicit.
